Gender Equality and Legal Protection

For decades, the fight for gender equality has been a constant challenge in all areas of life. Throughout history, we have witnessed significant advances in promoting equality and eradicating gender-based discrimination. However, we still face persistent challenges that require continuous attention and renewed commitment.

My legal practice focuses on providing advice and legal representation in cases of gender violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and gender discrimination. These are sensitive and complex issues that require a compassionate and empathetic approach.

I understand the importance of providing a safe and supportive space for those facing these situations. My goal is to provide solid and effective legal representation to ensure the protection and well-being of my clients.

In addition to offering legal services, I actively work in promoting policies and laws that promote gender equality and the protection of the rights of women and gender-diverse individuals.

In Andorra, important laws and decrees related to gender equality have been enacted. Two of the most relevant are:

Law 6/2022

This law, approved on March 31, 2022, aims to effectively apply the right to equal treatment and opportunities and to non-discrimination between women and men in Andorra. The law establishes provisions to eliminate the structural inequality faced by women in all areas of life, from work to social settings. Among its provisions is the obligation for public administrations to develop and implement their own Equality Plan, as well as for companies and organizations with more than 50 employees. This plan must reflect the effective application of gender equality and establish objectives, measures, and strategies to achieve it.

Decree 478/2023

This decree, issued on October 11, 2023, approves the minimum provisions regarding preventive measures and the approach to sexual and gender-based harassment behaviors in companies and other private sector entities in Andorra. This decree establishes the development of a Code of Prevention and Approach for these behaviors, which is one of the most effective ways to prevent and address harassment in the workplace. It also sets deadlines for companies to implement this code, providing a solid legal framework to protect the rights and safety of individuals in the workplace.

It is important for a lawyer specializing in these issues to be familiar with these laws and be able to advise their clients accordingly.
